We received this heart felt note and photo from a parent about the NH Education Tax Credit Scholarships.
My seven year old daughter, Sophia, suffers from a neurological disorder called Apraxia, which affects her speech, fine and gross motor skills, and learning. Though her intelligence is not affected, she requires alternative teaching methods. We gave public school a try, where she received occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, and one-on-one academic help. She made little progress, so instead now we are homeschooling her, along with taking her to private speech and occupational therapies. She has made huge strides, but my degree is not in special education, so I know as she gets older, she will need teachers more qualified than I. I found a local private school that teaches children according to their learning style and is very successful with children who have learning differences. It seems like a perfect fit for Sophia. A scholarship would be so generous and amazing!
