U. S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan has an idea: Children should be spending more time in school. Lots more – even 12-14 hours a day, seven days a week.
Is this what we want for our children – schools that take over so much of their lives that all parents have to do is get them ready for bed and make sure they dress for the bus the next morning?
This is the exact opposite of what we believe children need. Children need more parental involvement, more parental attention to their development and preparation for life, more parental time.
We believe this is also what most parents and children want, even long for. And it’s our goal to help make that possibility come to life for ever more families.
What do you think? What do you want for your children? Let us know.
