Homeschoolers are being recruited by colleges, and they are excelling, as is demonstrated by a new study by Michael F. Cogan. It’s no surprise to their parents.
This is good news for the move toward independent education. There are no big secrets to learning and excelling. People have been doing it on their own and with the help of parents, tutors, mentors and teachers of their choice, in thousands of different ways, since the beginning of civilization, and they've been doing it well.
Every year, millions of parents choose independent education options for their children and make them happen. Some homeschool, some choose private schooling, and some choose combinations. And their children are thriving. That's what we want to see more of.
