The Network for Educational Opportunity announces two Education Opportunity Expos, to be held during National School Choice Week, bringing school options to families.
Thanks to a law passed by the New Hampshire legislature, families may be eligible for financial need-based scholarship awards to pay tuition at an independent/private school, a public school outside of their district or for home schooling expenses. This has created a flurry of interest from families in need and levels the playing field, giving low-income children the opportunity to attend a school they would otherwise not be able to afford. The need-based scholarships empower families to choose a school that is the best fit for their child.
To help parents find the best fit for their child and information about the many schools they are now empowered to choose, the Education Opportunity Expos will be held on
  • Monday, January 28, 2013, at the Hampton Inn in Tilton from 4 pm to 8 pm and
  • Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Liberty Harbor Academy in Manchester from 10 am to 3 pm

Attendees will have the chance to receive one of two $1000 educational scholarships or a $50 Walmart gift card. Drawings will be held following the Expos and winners will be notified by email.
Representatives from area private schools, public charter schools, as well as, home school organizations will be in attendance to answer questions about the various educational options that exist for families in NH. The Network for Educational Opportunity will conduct information sessions at the Manchester event at 11 am and 1 pm to explain the financial need-based NH Education Opportunity Tax Credit Scholarships available to families.
When asked about the Expo, Kate Baker, Executive Director of the Network for Educational Opportunity said, “We, at NEO, are thrilled to have the opportunity to empower NH families to overcome barriers to choosing a school that is a great fit for their child.  We hope to award 1500 children the Education Tax Credit Scholarships in 2013 and to continually provide education resources and information to parents and the community, this Education Opportunity Expo is just the beginning.”
No registration is necessary and children are welcome to this family-friendly event. Light snacks and refreshments will be served. For more information, contact Kathleen at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
